The Fourth of July is on the horizon! We can hardly wait for the many community events happening throughout the Cleveland area, from patriotic cruises to fireworks shows, and everything in between. Mark your calendars for the Independence Day event nearest you for an unforgettable celebration of our nation's birthday!

Ashland Ohio Balloonfest

When: June 27-29, Times Vary Where: Freer Field, Ashland  

While the Ashland Ohio Balloonfest isn't technically a Fourth of July-centered event, it's still a fantastic way to kick off the patriotic week! This famous festival has been going strong for over 29 years, featuring a splendor of colorful hot air balloons rising high above you and decorating the Ashland sky throughout the weekend. There are also plenty of other fun activities, including a balloon glow, balloon races, stage performances, sports tournaments, food and so much more!  

Bay Days

When: July 3-6, Times Vary Where: Cahoon Park, Bay Village Live music, a classic car cruise-in, magic shows, carnival rides and a children's bike/trike/wagon parade are only some of the fun activities Bay Village has in store for you this Fourth of July! Plus, their festive fireworks display will begin at dusk, so settle in with a funnel cake and a freshly squeezed lemonade and enjoy the show!  

City of Independence Independence Day Celebration Fireworks

When: July 3, 7-10 p.m. Where: Elmwood Park, Independence 4th of July in Cleveland Is there a better way to celebrate Independence Day than in Independence, Ohio? This town goes all out for the holiday, setting up a fabulous fireworks display along with booths for food, beverages and games for you to enjoy! Bring your family, friends and neighbors because you're sure to have a fantastic time.  

Cleveland Pops Orchestra & Fireworks

When: July 3, 7:30-10:30 p.m. Where: Perici Amphitheater, Twinsburg Head down to Twinsburg this holiday and celebrate Independence Day with some great music! The Cleveland Pops Orchestra will be performing a variety of patriotic songs to get you in the spirit before the annual fireworks extravaganza. The entire family is welcome — grab your tickets here.  

Light Up the Point

When: July 4-6, Times Vary Where: Cedar Point, Sandusky Celebrate Independence Day with a bigger bang than ever before! Every night, Cedar Point will feature a spectacular fireworks show, pie eating contests and so much more. Plus, during this three-day event, Cedar Point will be offering free admission to active, retired or honorably discharged military members and active first responders.  

Lakewood Fourth of July Celebration

When: July 4, 10 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Where: Lakewood Park, Lakewood 4th of July in Cleveland Spend the entire day celebrating in Lakewood! The city's parade will kick off the day at 10 a.m. on Lake Avenue and will end at Lakewood Park, where games and activities will run all afternoon long. A featured concert from the Lakewood High School Youth Orchestra will provide some entertainment in the evening before the fireworks extravaganza concludes the day at 9:45 p.m.  

Grindstone Festival

When: July 4-6, 4-10 p.m. Where: Coe Lake Park, Berea This three-day free, family-friendly festival will feature paddleboat rides, an outdoor movie showing, live bands, carnival rides and local vendors from all over Berea! There will even be a parade featuring veterans and community groups marching through downtown past the Triangle. A breathtaking fireworks display over Coe Lake will conclude the evening.  

4th of July Fireworks Cruise

When: July 4, 6-11:30 p.m. Where: Goodtime III Enjoy a night of dinner, dancing, live music and fireworks while sailing along Lake Erie! Tickets to this unique Fourth of July celebration start at $35 and depend on your viewing level and dinner order. Boarding starts at 6 p.m. and reservations are required.  

Rock n' Boom

When: July 4, 8-11 p.m. Where: The Great Lakes Science Center 4th of July in Cleveland

Celebrate Independence Day from the most patriotic vantage point in Cleveland: aboard the William G. Mather steamship! Food and drinks will be available for purchase in the Great Lakes Science Center café. Tickets start at $16, and are just $13 if you're a museum member. Guests are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring blankets and chairs aboard to watch the show.  

Strongsville Fourth of July Fireworks

When: July 4, 10 p.m. Where: Strongsville Athletic Field We can't think of a better place to celebrate America's birthday than the picturesque city of Strongsville. This year, their annual fireworks display will commence at dusk, around 10 p.m., at the Strongsville Athletic Field. So pack up your blanket or lawn chairs and settle in to watch the show!  

Homedays on the Green

When: July 11-14, Times Vary Where: Broadview Heights Community and Recreation Center 4th of July in Cleveland

Make your Independence Day celebration last an extra week or so by heading out to Broadview Heights for one of the region's biggest Fourth of July festivals. Enjoy carnival games, delicious food, local vendor booths, live music and, of course, fireworks!
